This believe it or not is an incredibly massive six cylinder furnace, as you can see mother nature is reclaiming her land. We cycled a ten mile circuit named The Iron Circuit, it just down the road from us and we had the perfect weather as well. This area is fascinating (well to us anyway!) They mined iron here from 1901 – 1938 and the infrastructure can be seen all around. Just below here were the original stone built furnace/kilns that they are now in the middle of renovating as part of the history of the area. This was the closest I could get to this massive structure, with the free range chooks between us as we had our picnic.
