We attempted to do this walk the day before but were thwarted by the Friday afternoon sign-poster maker who confused us completely by putting the wrong walk number on our walk ……..after thrashing around for over an hour we gave up and tried again today…..!
It was the most perfect weather 21 degrees and a gentle breeze, I would say it was easily one of out favourite walks here so far. A lot of varied scenery and three – quarters of the walk was along tracks so soft underfoot for most of the way.
The Church of Colombier en Brionnais
One heavily pollarded tree at the farmhouse, grand maman heading for the postbox as I took the photo…
Wood Anemones flourishing right now, the Burgundian countryside is coming to life this week
very friendly Charloais along the way
even posing for me, usually they hightail it from us as we walk along
in the depths of the forest Bois Dieu we were invited to sup the spring water from the Fointaine – a well and a memorial cross marks the spot of ? the inscription was too worn to see….
Incredible – unbelievable – holly is bearing fruit and so lavishly here, I think quite amazing for March?
This cottage we past was so so cute and forlorn, set on the side of a hill overlooking the valley below surrounded by its own extensive fields with a well out front – what a shame no-one lives here …
the well … when last drawn we wonder?
pretty lanes and very pretty country cottages
a very historic farmyard
cowslips are flowing over the lanes right now, in the UK they are quite rare only common in East Anglia, here they are quite plentiful ….. end of our walk for today
