…. is a shale ridge rising above the ruins of Bon Repos Abbey. We have now climbed it twice in as many days, its has totally fascinated me from the first step on this very lonely ancient moorland place. There are so many aspects to this mystical location that I am taking it slowly revealing its beauty. Three Neolithic burial chambers called ‘allee couvertes’ are the star attraction which I will post later and you can see from these natural craggy weathered slate outcrops the reason why Neolithic man chose this exposed and fortified location to build chambers for their dead, these building materials were very easy to handle and to hand. Loads more images to come from here., this place has aspects of Cornwall (St Just) and Devon (Dartmoor) all rolled into one, I love it!
