Jaipur Hindu Souvenirs

There at the entrance to a famous Hindu temple was a plethora of worshipping accoutrements for the visiting pilgrims to buy….

These fairy light oil lamps were so well made and realistic from a distance..

I so wanted to bring home this kitsch sacred cow and calf…

Ganesha being the popular choice, his elephant head makes him easy to identify. Also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka, is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of rituals and ceremonies. He is definitely my favourite also.
