Haute-Pyrenees – POIRES AU VIN ROUGE

As a French dessert, poires au vin rouge is a classic and a fine way to finish an winter meal when pears are in season. They are very cheap here compared to the UK, as is the vin rouge for a whole £1 I had a perfectly fruity number to simmer with the spices of cinnamon and vanilla pod plus some sugar. It was fun to make and so very delicious to eat., a perfect alcoholic desert. 😉
