Cornish Walking with Louie on The Great Flat Lode

Not back from Italy a week and cannot resist the company of Louie my new pal, a 12 month young black Cocker Spaniel and the gorgeous Cornish countryside on a misty damp atmospheric day for a ramble and The Great Flat Lode beckoned us… a day out and a full 8 mile circular walk thats blows the cobwebs away 🙂

The beautiful hedgerows are coming to life, bluebells hanging in there and Ramsons coming up behind

Seems like King Edward mine have the equivalent to Time Team in and are making serious excavations into past activities

which way??

it is wild and woolly out here on the moors!

Gorse is blazing right now tho mono doesn’t bring it across so good but use your imagination

Louie always checking out stuff x

This walk is awesome and if you haven’t done it yet – do it but if on a sunny day take plenty of factor 50 not much shade about

perfect watery stomping break for water obsessed Louie

Forget me nots everywhere

overgrown mine shafts

looking skywards

Louie ever watchful

  1. re Cornish walking with Louie. Love your emails, & enjoyed your holiday picks of Italy. The scenery around The Amalfi coastline is spectacular, we were in Italy some 20 years ago, would love to go back but age has caught up with us now. We are both well at present & hope you are too. I would love to go walking around the golf course again but my legs won’t let me,although l don’t play competition golf, we still have a few holes on Sunday’s using a golf cart. The weather here at present is beautiful, there is no sign of winter as yet & looks like we will have a very mild one when it does come suits me. On a sad note, you remember Harry &Margaret, we had a beer or two at the surf club back in 2006, Margaret passed on March 9, she had Dementia & had been in a nursing home for only 4 months, she did not remember her own children at the end. In early November, Harry had a massive stroke & yesterday he too passed away. Out of a family of 8 there is only Les & his sister Hazel who lives in Townsville left. So sad.Harry was a favorite with everyone. keep the photo journey coming, we enjoy them very much.

keep traveling, stay safe, stay well & love to you both yours. Peggy. &. Les.
